The Town of Mursko Središće has received €39,000 in non-repayable funds from the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds for the construction of a pedestrian path alongside county road ŽC2003 in Peklenica. The contract was handed over at a ceremony in Karlovac. The support comes from the Programme for Sustainable Development of Local Communities and the Programme for Support to Mountainous Areas.
The path will extend from the centre of Peklenica, near the Community Hall, towards the neighbouring settlement of Križovec. The town aims to increase pedestrian safety on the road, which is used daily by children and the elderly.
The estimated value of the investment is €211,949.88, with the construction funded equally by the Međimurje County Roads Administration and the Town of Mursko Središće. The state support received is intended to co-finance the town's share, thereby directly relieving the town budget.
Mayor Dražen Srpak was absent from the handover due to annual leave. Josip Sršan, head of the Administrative Department for Communal Affairs, Construction and Environmental Protection, accepted the contract on behalf of the Town.
The Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds organised the formal handover of contracts to beneficiaries of both programmes.
