The Town of Klanjec has secured more than €53,000 in grants from the Ministry of Demography, Family and Youth for two projects aimed at children. Mayor Zlatko Brlek signed the agreements on 23 June in Bjelovar, where Minister Ivan Šipić handed out a total of 186 agreements for projects concerning children's kindergartens and playgrounds across 117 local self-government units from five counties.
For the Park Generations in Gredice project, Klanjec was allocated €35,000 to co-finance street workout equipment and children's play structures for a new playground in Gredice currently being developed. The total value of the construction and equipping of the playground amounts to €183,061.
Under the second agreement, for the Sunny World of Play project, €18,075 was secured for the purchase of toys and sunshades for the outdoor area of the Kesten Children's Kindergarten. The value of this project is €36,888, with the ministry co-financing 49 per cent.
Klanjec qualified for support in the category of local self-government units classified from Group V to Group VIII according to the development index, which determines the intensity of the support available. The agreements were handed out at the ceremony in Bjelovar to towns and municipalities from the Bjelovar-Bilogora, Koprivnica-Križevci, Krapina-Zagorje, Međimurje and Varaždin counties.
