The Municipality of Pazin has secured €7.2 million in grant funding for the construction of a new school building and sports hall for the Trviž Branch School. The co-financing agreement with the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth was signed by Mayor Suzana Jašić on 3 July in Đakovo.
The funds come from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument. The funds were allocated under a call aimed at the construction, reconstruction and equipping of primary schools to enable single-shift schooling.
"This is the result of the work of a large number of people within and around the Municipality, to whom I am grateful. This is a major developmental leap for Trviž and the wider area," Mayor Jašić said.
Construction will not begin immediately. Before works commence, the Municipality of Pazin must carry out preparatory activities and public procurement procedures to select contractors.
The new school building with a hall is expected to provide students at the branch school with more modern teaching conditions, and single-shift schooling is one of the goals the state is promoting across the country through this call.
