The remaining agreements on the non-repayable use of part of the monument rent revenue for the restoration and development of buildings in the protected historic core were signed in the office of the Mayor of Senj, concluding this year's programme worth a total of 138,000 euros.
Financial support was granted to all 17 projects that met the conditions of the public call published in March. A total of 22 applications were received, but five did not meet the prescribed criteria following an administrative review.
An initial €60,000 was allocated in the city budget for the programme, which allowed for the signing of agreements with six beneficiaries. As the initial funds were insufficient for all eligible applications, the City increased the budgetary allocation, and agreements have now been signed with the remaining 11 beneficiaries.
Mayor Željko Tomljanović highlighted that this year's public call had generated the highest interest to date. Alongside him, the signing was attended by Vice Nekić, President of the City Council, heads of city administrative departments, and the project manager.
The funds are intended for the restoration of facades, roofs, and other parts of buildings within the protected ensemble. The City continues its systematic investment in the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of the old core, benefiting residents and numerous visitors.
