Eight towns and municipalities in Požega-Slavonia County will receive a total of 285 thousand euros in state support for municipal projects this year. The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property has published the list of projects selected under the programme to stimulate the development of the municipal economy and harmonise municipal standards.
A total of 378 applications were received from local self-government units at the state level. The total value of the registered projects amounts to 45 million euros, with co-financing requested at 20 million euros. Following administrative review and evaluation, a total of 13.2 million euros in support was approved. Individual amounts range from 6,700 to 40,600 euros.
The largest individual amount of 40.6 thousand euros is awarded to five beneficiaries. These are the Municipality of Jakšić for the repair of an unclassified road between Cerovac and Granje, the Municipality of Velika for improving municipal services, and the Town of Kutjevo for the renovation of the community centre in Bektež. The same amount is awarded to the Town of Požega, for the maintenance of Stjepan Ferić and Ivan Cimerman streets in Vidovci, and the Municipality of Čaglin, for raising the municipal standard of the settlement of Vukojevica and surrounding settlements.
The Town of Pleternica receives 30.5 thousand euros for the purchase of municipal equipment for the development of public areas, the Municipality of Brestovac 28.4 thousand euros for the construction of public lighting in the settlements of Oblakovac, Podsreće and Crljenci, and the Municipality of Kaptol 22.8 thousand euros for the purchase of a municipal mulcher.
The programme is aimed at the more efficient performance of municipal activities and raising the quality of public services, and also covers projects for affordable housing and the development of social and community infrastructure, particularly in assisted areas.
