Eighteen holders of tourism projects from the Sisak-Moslavina County have signed contracts for grants totalling €109,500, aimed at raising the quality of accommodation offerings. The contracts were handed over at the Panorama holiday home in Kutina.
The grants are awarded on the basis of a public call for the improvement of accommodation quality in 2026, and were presented to beneficiaries by Deputy County Prefect Mihael Jurić and the director of the Sisak-Moslavina County Tourist Board (Turistička zajednica Sisačko-moslavačke županije), Ivana Plavec. The funds are intended for investments in additional guest amenities, renewable energy sources, and the circular economy, with the aim of strengthening the county's recognisability as a green and sustainable destination.
Plavec emphasised that the programme is not only financial support but also recognition of the work of tourism entities. It is also linked, she added, to the Local Host label, which highlights hosts who represent the best face of the county through their expertise and care for guests.
Jurić recalled that the county has been implementing such programmes for the third year running, and that the number of applicants for rentals has increased year on year. The grants, he said, are most significant for users in expanding their offerings with additional amenities such as pools, saunas, and wellness facilities.
Among the beneficiaries is Vedran Desić, owner of the Panorama holiday home, who, with his family, renovated an inherited old wine cellar and converted it into a holiday home. With this year's grant, he plans to extend the terrace, install a glass pergola, and set up a wellness zone with a sauna and jacuzzi.
The ceremony continues the Tourism Plus programme: during 2024 and 2025, it co-financed 38 tourism entities with a total of €360,000.
