The town of Lepoglava has awarded just over €33,000 in non-repayable grants to artisans and entrepreneurs from its area. The grant allocation contracts were signed in the town hall and are intended for micro-enterprises within the small business sector to stimulate the development of the local economy.
20 entities from the small business sector received grants, primarily for the purchase of new machinery, tools, and equipment. Most beneficiaries secured the highest individual grant amount of €2,000.
"This is a town grant for entrepreneurs who are investing in the development and strengthening of their economic activities and capacities," said Mayor Željko Šoštarić, who handed over the contracts to the entrepreneurs. He also announced a meeting with business owners so that the town could learn firsthand about the problems they face and how to provide additional assistance. "We want to help those who significantly contribute to the town budget and are one of the most important factors in the development of our town," he added.
A total of €40,000 was secured for the Lepoglava grant programme, leaving a portion of the funds unspent. The town therefore plans to launch another tender through which the remaining amount will be awarded to entrepreneurs.
