Police officers on Sunday stopped a 47-year-old man in Koprivnica who was operating an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol at 2.20 per mille. The stop occurred on Sunday at 19.10 in Miklinovec Street, and police immediately removed him from traffic. A misdemeanor procedure will be initiated against him.

During the same period, a 46-year-old driver of a car with Križevci registration plates was arrested for a similar offence. On Friday, 18 July, at 23.15, he was driving in Bjelovarska Street in Križevci and had 2.16 per mille of alcohol in his body. The driver was brought before the competent misdemeanor court on Sunday.

Police recommended that the 46-year-old be sentenced to 30 days in prison and placed in 15 days of detention. Additionally, a protective measure banning him from driving category B motor vehicles for three months was requested. In the expedited misdemeanor procedure, the driver was heard and released by order, and the court will make a final decision on sanctions subsequently.

Police have called on all drivers of personal transport vehicles to contribute to the safety of all road users through responsible behaviour and compliance with traffic regulations. It is particularly emphasised that drivers must not operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol, which is crucial for preventing traffic accidents and protecting life on the roads.
