Organisers of Zlatne žice Slavonije, the longest-running tamburitza festival in Croatia, are promoting this year's edition with video messages in which well-known personalities invite the public to Požega, reports 034portal.
The first video message was posted on the festival's official Facebook page by actress Ana Marija Veselčić from Vinkovci, known to a wider audience for her role in the series Divlje pčele. She appeared from the Pula Film Festival and invited lovers of tamburitza music to visit Požega in early September.
Support for the festival was also sent by the celebrated tennis player Goran Ivanišević, who recorded his message on the tennis courts in Umag. Organisers announce that more well-known names will appear in the campaign.
Zlatne žice Slavonije has gathered the best performers of tamburitza music for decades and is among the most important musical events in Slavonia. The festival is traditionally held on the first weekend in September, when Požega becomes the centre of tamburitza music, hosting performers and visitors from across Croatia and abroad.
