The picture book The Lacemaker Cat has been published, the literary debut of Vlasta Malina from Sisak, released by publisher Profigraf, reports Sisak.info.

It is a bilingual edition in Croatian and English, titled "Maca Čipkarica / The Lacemaker Cat". The story is written entirely in rhyme and follows an unusual heroine — a cat that creates the finest lace from every blanket it lies on and sleeps soundly upon.

The visual identity of the picture book is by young British illustrator Charis Bradley. Although published in picture book format, it is aimed at readers "from 7 to 77 years old", as Sisak.info notes, because the story can be interpreted on several levels.

Due to the combination of bilingualism and the lyrical rhythm of the rhyme, the picture book is also recommended as a tool for intuitive foreign language learning for the youngest readers. The edition is available for purchase via the publisher's website.
