This year's Leto va Kraljevici, running until 1 September, brings over 40 cultural, entertainment and sporting events for all generations. The traditional event is organised by the City of Kraljevica and the Kraljevica Tourist Board, with most of the programme free for visitors.
The programme was opened on 23 June with the Bruno Kurolt memorial mini-football tournament, accompanied by the traditional Kraljevica regattas and the celebration of St Peter's Day on Bakarac. The sporting section also includes a joint screening of the World Cup match between Ghana and Croatia.
The musical highlight of the summer sees the arrival of the band Magazin on the Kraljevica riviera. Klapa Šufit perform on 26 July, Novi Fosili with Sanja & Zec on 1 August, and the band 777, while the dance programme Porto Retro with the Infinity Band takes place on the Summer Stage on 18 July. Fešta od klapunic hosts Maura Staraja and La band, the Tira Tira festival on Bakarac features Tomislav Bralić and Klapa Intrade, while Joso Butorac, Karin Kuljanić and Mario Battifiaca perform in the Frankopan Castle.
Kraljevica's cultural summer was opened by Mirjana Bobuš's concert "Za dušu z dušon", and the programme also includes an evening of film music "Stardust" by the women's choir Sklad with guest opera artists. Comedy fans can look forward to stand-up performances by Ivan Šarić on 23 July and Željko Pervan on 23 August, as well as the play "Da sam ja neko" by Enis Bešlagić on 30 July, alongside children's theatre and two open-air cinema screenings.
Tickets for paid events range from 15 euros for Klapa Šufit to 36.50 euros for Bešlagić's play, and are available at the Kraljevica Visitor Centre and via the Entrio, Eventim and Core Event systems, depending on the event.
The event concludes with a concert of the finest opera arias performed by students of the masterclass led by tenor Francisco Araiza and opera singer Marija Vidović, whose return to Kraljevica organisers highlight as confirmation of the programme's reputation.
