A major fire broke out on Monday shortly before 15:00 within the premises of the waste management company CE-ZA-R on Industrijska Street in Sesvete, Zagreb, with thick black smoke spreading across the eastern part of the city, Zagreb.info and N1 reported.

Firefighting units and police were immediately dispatched to the scene, working to extinguish the fire and secure the area. Due to the intervention, traffic on Industrijska Street and surrounding roads may be hindered or temporarily suspended, Zagreb.info notes.

CE-ZA-R, a member of the C.I.O.S. group, operates a recycling centre in Sesvete where various waste materials are processed, including bulky waste and old household appliances. The site also houses a large facility for shredding and separating waste.
