An additional doctor is working at the emergency medical service clinic in Kaštela Stari throughout the entire tourist season. The town of Kaštela and the Emergency Medicine Institute of Split-Dalmatia County jointly funded the position, with the town allocating more than €30,000 for this purpose.
The additional doctor is available from 15 June to 13 September, seven days a week from 10:00 to 22:00. The service is primarily intended for tourists and other visitors who require medical assistance.
The aim of the measure is to relieve existing emergency medical teams, allowing them to focus on urgent and life-threatening conditions. Kaštela sees a significantly higher number of people in summer than at other times of the year, increasing pressure on the health service.
"The number of people in Kaštela increases significantly in summer, and it is important to us that the health system can respond to increased needs," said Mayor Denis Ivanović, thanking the Institute's director, Dr Leo Luetić, and the head of the emergency service in Kaštela Stari, Dr Antonija Žanić, for their cooperation.
"The town has allocated slightly more than €30,000 for this service because it is important to us that both our citizens and everyone staying in Kaštela feel safe," Ivanović added.
