Drivers filling up on motorways these days pay significantly more than at other petrol stations. While the Government caps retail prices for standard fuels every two weeks, this restriction does not apply near motorways, where distributors set prices freely.
According to the current regulation, which is valid until 14 July, a litre of super 95 and diesel outside motorways costs 1.54 euros. At INA and Tifon stations near motorways, super 95 is sold at 1.60 euros, and diesel at 1.67 euros — six and thirteen cents higher, respectively. Premium fuels are even more expensive: super 100 costs 2.06 euros, and premium diesel 2.02 euros per litre.
The differences are even greater at Petrolova stations. Super 95 is charged at 1.63 euros, diesel at 1.70 euros, while premium diesel reaches 2.04 euros per litre — a full 23 cents above the regulated price for standard diesel.
The comparison was made at stations along motorways A1, A3 and A6. The Government reintroduced fuel price regulation in March 2026 due to the escalation of the oil crisis.
