The summer admissions period for secondary schools in the Sisak-Moslavina County has concluded, with 1135 students finding places in the first year. The Economics School Sisak was the only institution to fill all available places during the summer round.
With 66 enrolled students, the Sisak Economics School closed admissions for the occupations of business economy clerk and administrative-business clerk. The Novska Secondary School, Sisak Gymnasium, technical schools in Sisak and Kutina, and the Tina Ujevića Secondary School in Kutina also recorded high interest; after admissions, only one place remained free at the Tina Ujevića school, which enrolled 91 students.
The largest school in the county by student numbers, the Sisak Viktorovac Secondary School, enrolled 132 students in programmes for hairdressers, chefs, nurses and technicians, pharmaceutical technicians, sales assistants, pastry chefs and waiters. The Kutina Technical School attracted 105 new students.
Interest in digital professions is also growing. The video game development technician course at the Sisak Technical School enrolled 23 students, and the identical programme in Novska enrolled 21. For the robotics and automation technician course, a programme offered exclusively by the Sisak Technical School in Croatia, 17 students opted to enrol.
101 students were enrolled at the Sisak Gymnasium. The general track recorded a record 66 enrolments, and all 22 places in the sports gymnasium, introduced following the school's modernisation project, were filled. At the Sisak Vocational School, courses for architectural and construction technicians, road traffic technicians, and web interface development and design technicians were filled, among others, as well as programmes for drivers and carpenters.
Students who did not find a place during the summer round have a new opportunity at the end of August, when the final ranking list with available places by school is published for the autumn round.
The admission results follow significant county investments in school infrastructure. Following the earthquakes, school buildings in Glina and Sisak were rebuilt, Petrinja received a completely new school building, the Kutina Technical School is undergoing energy renovation, and the Sisak Economics School is constructing a new building — its first own building in the school's history.
