The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property has issued its consent to the final proposal for the third amendments and additions to the Spatial Plan of the City of Korčula. This was announced by Mayor Frano Jeričević. The only remaining step before the amendments enter into force is their adoption by the City Council.
The consent confirms that the plan proposal was drawn up in accordance with the law. There are no longer any legal obstacles to the final adoption. This marks the completion of one of the most important steps in a process that has lasted for months, Jeričević noted in a post on Facebook.
The mayor described the spatial plan as one of the most important documents for the development of any city. It determines the direction of development in the coming years, and without it, many projects cannot even begin or be completed. By adopting the amendments, he said, the prerequisites are created for a series of infrastructure and development projects that have been waiting for years.
"After that, we can open a new development chapter for Korčula and begin the projects that our fellow citizens have been waiting for for a long time," Jeričević wrote. He thanked the councillors, the city team for the Spatial Plan, and the expert collaborators who brought the document to its final stage.
The city does not plan to stop there. Immediately after adoption, preparations will begin for the fourth amendments and additions to the Spatial Plan. These, the mayor wrote, have been "knocking on the door" for some time.
