Two medical students sought medical assistance and police protection after a man attacked them at their workplace in a hospitality venue in Novi Vinodolski, where they work during the tourist season, N1 reports.
According to the students' account to Dnevnik.hr, the man first verbally assaulted them while they were setting up the menu in the designated area between two hospitality venues. They claim he then pursued the 22-year-old student, a person with a physical disability, into the interior of the premises and punched him in the head.
Both sought treatment at Rijeka University Hospital Clinical Centre (KBC Rijeka), where physical injuries and psychological consequences of the attack were confirmed.
According to the students, the attacker denied striking anyone. The students also claim to have heard from locals that the individuals who attacked them had previously been linked to similar incidents and are related to one of the current ministers.
Police confirmed that the incident had been reported and that an investigation is ongoing.
