Barcelona have officially confirmed the signing of German winger Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. The club announced that the contract has been signed until 2031, concluding the transfer process between the two clubs. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but the media report the agreement is worth around €22 million plus additional bonuses, including a sell-on clause.

Adeyemi, aged 24, arrives from the German top-flight side where he spent his last two seasons. Before moving to Dortmund in 2022, the player featured for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg. During his time at Dortmund, he achieved impressive statistical results, playing 146 matches and scoring 36 goals across all competitions.

This move marks a reunion between Adeyemi and Hansi Flick. The German coach was a key figure in Adeyemi’s career, granting him his senior debut for the Croatian national team. Flick recognised his potential while managing Dortmund, and is now bringing him to Barcelona where he will attempt to maintain high standards.

Adeyemi set several speed records during his Bundesliga career. His most notable record is 36.65 km/h, achieved during Dortmund’s 5-1 victory over Freiburg in the 2022/23 season. The speedy attacker now becomes Barcelona’s second new signing in the current transfer window.
