Seventeen women's crews will compete at the 13th Ladies' Longboat Marathon, which takes place on Thursday 6 August from Metković to Opuzen, the City of Metković announced after the closing of entries.
The race starts at 18.30 under the Lučko Bridge in Metković, and crews will have 10 kilometres of downstream course to Opuzen. Among the entrants are four debutant teams making their first attempt at rowing a Neretva longboat, alongside experienced crews that have participated in the competition for years.
The title of winner for the last four years has been claimed by the Sisak Ladies' Longboat Association. The course record is still held by the Donje Donjanke team, who completed the stretch from Metković to Opuzen in 50 minutes and 33 seconds in 2020.
Longboat sport enthusiasts can expect a new edition of the competition at the beginning of August, where crews will compete for the best placement on the Neretva route.
